Polarization-consistent force field for ketones

Ketones are some of the most widely used solvents, with a variety applications. In addition, molecules ketone functional groups feature prominently in pharmaceutical APIs. However, they present particular challenge for modelling, particularly when considering solutions and mixtures. this paper, we new classical nonpolarizable model ketones, based on our recently-proposed Polarization-Consistent Approach (PolCA). PolCA is theoretically-grounded consideration polarization effects framework, which lead to an optimal selection model’s effective dipole moment point charges, as well derivation post facto corrections solvation free energy dielectric constant predictions. This allows us effectively account missing computationally expedient way. At core approach realistic estimate ketones liquid phase, obtain by applying recently-developed Self-Consistent Electrostatic Embedding (SCEE) method. The model, developed under paradigm, provides significantly improved predictions over state-of-the-art TraPPE shows transferability heterogeneous systems.
